Bodie Ghost Town
Bodie Ghost Town is a California State park that is way
cool, sitting at 9000 ft. elevation and 13 miles down a dirt
road off Hwy 395 on the eastern side of the Sierras, you can
wander around Bodie Ghost Town and get a feel for what life
must have been like in 1850. It must have taken little Joe a
week to get Carson City, Nevada, but you can drive it from Bodie
in an hour. Take lots of water (it’s very dry- even in winter).
Only maps and books are available for purchase. There is NO food
or water available around Bodie Ghost Town. The last town and stop is Bridgeport if
