Beng Mealea, Cambodia

 Beng Mealea is about 50 miles (80 km) from Siem Reap and is about a 2 hour trip each way, BUT WORTH IT!  Hire a car and driver for about $75.00 and see this temple.   It is the least crowded temple we visited, and so beautiful.  Swallowed by the jungle and barely cleaned up, it has a mysterious allure.    We were lucky and one of the park rangers adopted us and took us on a “special tour”.  We saw so many parts of this temple that we would not have otherwise seen.  (We expected Indiana Jones to pop out any minute!)  We would have not dared to climb where he lead us.  It was the most wonderful experience.
