Amalfi, Italy
Amalfi, Italy: Not a place to drive if you are
intimidated by very narrow streets, roads that hang off of shear cliffs,
cars buzzing around like flies and are not much bigger than one. So settle
in and relax, go to the square, have a coffee and Panini (flat grilled
sandwich) or a piece of pizza, you’re going to want to stay for a decade or
two. The bells that constantly sound tell of the time to 15 minute
intervals, the beginning of mass, the end of mass, start of school, end of
school, lunchtime, back from lunch and sometimes they happily ring for, who
knows. Do explore the hills surrounding town, what appears to be a big horn
sheep trail is really a sidewalk that weaves in and out of lemon groves.
